ORIGINAL GENERATION

PLWF005, PLWF105 and PLWF115 Replacement Filters

PETLIBRO's Dockstream Replacement Filter page names these three models explicitly — the only official filter page that lists model numbers at all.

SHORT ANSWER

Do the three original Dockstream fountains share one filter?

Yes, and this is the best-documented answer on the whole site. PETLIBRO’s Dockstream Replacement Filter page states that it is “only available for the Water Fountain of Model PLWF005 / PLWF115 / PLWF105.” That is the one official filter page which names individual model numbers at all.

The three fountains differ in how they are powered and controlled, not in what they filter with. That is the useful thing to understand here, because it explains why a single filter serves all three and why third-party packs so often list exactly these three model numbers together.

One filter, three fountains

Named by PETLIBROUse the Dockstream Replacement Filter

PETLIBRO's Dockstream Replacement Filter page states it is only available for the Water Fountain of Model PLWF005 / PLWF115 / PLWF105. This is the one official filter page that names individual model numbers.

Worth appreciating how unusual that is here. PETLIBRO’s newer Dockstream / Dockstream 2 filter page names no models at all, and its comparison page marks the Dockstream 2 filters “Not Available For Now.” Owners of the original three fountains get an explicit, checkable statement that owners of the newer models currently do not.

Where the three models actually differ

All three sit on the Original Dockstream at 2.5 L. What separates them is the power and control arrangement:

ModelFountainPower and control
PLWF005Dockstream Wireless PumpPlug-in
PLWF105Dockstream SmartPlug-in · App
PLWF115Dockstream CordlessCordless

A cordless unit and an app-connected unit are different products to live with, but the water still passes through the same replacement filter. This is why identifying which of the three you own matters less for buying filters than it does for buying almost anything else—though it still matters for reading a listing correctly, since some packs name only a subset.

Reading a pack’s model list

The failure mode on this generation is not usually buying something that cannot work. It is buying a pack aimed at a different generation. Two traps are worth naming:

  1. Packs that name all six models.A seller claiming the full range across three generations is making a broader claim than PETLIBRO makes on any single page. Broader is not better here—it means more of the fit question rests on the seller’s description.
  2. Packs aimed at the RFID or Dockstream 2 models. PETLIBRO assigns the PLWF305 a different filter product entirely, and the Dockstream 2 position is currently contradictory across its own pages.

A pack that names PLWF005, PLWF105, and PLWF115 specifically is making a narrow, checkable claim about the fountains covered on this page. That specificity is a feature.

Original Dockstream filters in a Dockstream 2 fountain

This comes up often enough to address directly, because it runs in the opposite direction to what this page covers. If you own a Dockstream 2 fountain and have original Dockstream filters left over, that is a different question with a documented purchase-date condition attached, and it applies to the cordless PLWF116 specifically. It is covered in PLWF116 replacement filter compatibility.

Going the other way—putting a current-generation filter into an original Dockstream fountain—is not something our sources address, so we do not make a claim about it.

What we could not confirm

  • Whether the filter has been revised at any point within the original Dockstream generation. The model list is documented; a revision history is not.
  • Any physical specification of the filter—dimensions, media type, or rated life beyond the stated replacement interval.
  • Whether third-party packs naming these three models are equivalent in construction to the manufacturer-listed pack. Seller compatibility claims are not manufacturer approval.

Manufacturer guidance and marketplace seller claims are different classes of evidence. Where a source does not address a combination, this site reports that the combination is not affirmed rather than treating it as confirmed either way.
