How to Find Your PETLIBRO Dockstream Model Number

Narrow six PETLIBRO Dockstream fountains down to one using capacity, power type, and app support — and where PETLIBRO documents an on-device identifier.

SHORT ANSWER

Which Dockstream do I actually own?

You can usually narrow six Dockstream fountains to one using three things you can see without any label: the tank capacity, whether it runs on mains power or a battery, and whether it pairs with an app.

How precise you need to be depends on which group you land in. The three original Dockstream fountains share one documented filter, so the group is enough. The RFID model and the two Dockstream 2 models each need the exact number, because PETLIBRO treats them differently.

Start with capacity

Capacity splits the range cleanly in two, and it is printed on most fountains as a fill line or stated in the product listing you bought from.

CapacityModelsWhat this tells you
2.5 LPLWF005, PLWF115, PLWF105Original Dockstream
3 LPLWF305, PLWF106, PLWF116RFID generation or Dockstream 2

If you land on the 2.5 L group you are on the original Dockstream generation, and PETLIBRO names all three of those models on one filter page. That is often the whole answer—see PLWF005, PLWF105 and PLWF115 replacement filters.

Then separate by power and control

Within each capacity group, power delivery and app support finish the job. These are the attributes recorded for each model:

Three observations make this table quicker to use. A fountain that runs without being plugged in is one of only two models. A fountain with an RFID tray is the only one of its generation. And app support appears on four of the six, so it narrows rather than decides.

A short decision path

  1. Does it run unplugged? If yes, you have one of the two cordless models—then check capacity to tell them apart.
  2. Is the tank the larger size? If yes, you are on the RFID generation or Dockstream 2, not the original line.
  3. Does it use an RFID tray? If yes, that identifies a single model, and it is the one with a second replacement component. See PLWF305 filter vs. pump sponge.
  4. Does it connect to an app? Combined with capacity and power, this resolves the remaining models.

When you need the exact number anyway

Two situations genuinely require the precise model, not just the group:

  • Reusing an older filter pack with a Dockstream 2 fountain. A documented purchase-date condition applies to the cordless model specifically, so corded and cordless must be told apart. See PLWF116 replacement filter compatibility.
  • Buying a sponge for the RFID model. Its pump-cover sponge is a separate part from the tray cartridge, and a generic bundle may not address it.

Where to read the number directly

PETLIBRO’s guidance is that the Model No. appears on the product or the package. The one on-device location we could verify from an official support page is specific to the RFID model: its PN code “can be found on the right side of the Type-C charging port, underneath the water tank base.” That is a PN code rather than a Model No., and we found no equivalent page for the other five fountains—so this guide does not guess at their label positions. These records carry the number reliably:

  1. Your order history. Online order records normally show the exact model purchased.
  2. The original box or manual. Retail packaging generally carries the model number.
  3. The replacement filter pack you last bought. Its printed model list tells you what it was intended for—and PETLIBRO’s classic filter page names PLWF005 / PLWF115 / PLWF105 explicitly, so a pack for those three is itself a strong hint.

If none of those are available, work the observable traits above and use the matcher. The finder is built so that a confident group answer still produces a useful purchase recommendation.

What we could not confirm

  • The physical location of the Model No. label on any Dockstream fountain. PETLIBRO says it is on the product or the package without specifying where.
  • Any documented on-device identifier location for the five non-RFID fountains.
  • Whether any regional variants exist that carry different model numbers for the same fountain.

Our sources establish which model numbers exist, how the fountains differ, and one PN code location on one model. They do not describe where the Model No. marking is applied, so we have left that unanswered rather than filling it in.
