PLWF106 and PLWF116 Dockstream 2 Filters
PETLIBRO's official pages disagree about Dockstream 2 replacement filters, and only the cordless PLWF116 carries a documented purchase-date condition.
SHORT ANSWER
Do the corded and cordless Dockstream 2 take the same filter?
We cannot give you a clean yes, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. PETLIBRO’s own pages disagree about Dockstream 2 replacement filters, so the honest instruction is to check the model number on your fountain against the compatibility information printed on the filter package.
What is documented: only the cordless PLWF116 carries a purchase-date condition for reusing older Dockstream 1 filters. Nothing equivalent is recorded for the corded PLWF106—which means unaddressed, not unrestricted.

The two Dockstream 2 fountains
Both models are Dockstream 2 fountains at 3 L. The difference is in power delivery: the PLWF106 is the Dockstream 2 Smart running Plug-in · App, while the PLWF116 is the Dockstream 2 Smart Cordless running Cordless · App.
PETLIBRO's replacement filter page says the filters suit Dockstream and Dockstream 2 but lists no model numbers, while its model comparison page marks the replacement filter for PLWF106 and PLWF116 as "Not Available For Now." Because these official pages disagree, check the model number on your fountain and the compatibility information printed on the filter package before purchase.
The asymmetry worth knowing about
Where the two models diverge is in reusing filters from the previous generation. PETLIBRO published an FAQ affirming that Dockstream 1 filters purchased in 2026 or later can be used in the Dockstream 2 Smart Cordless. That statement is scoped to the cordless model, and it is the single clearest piece of guidance either Dockstream 2 model has.
| Model | Current filter pack | Older Dockstream 1 pack |
|---|---|---|
| PLWF106 | Filter page says Dockstream 2 but names no models; comparison page says “Not Available For Now” | No purchase-date guidance recorded — unaddressed by our sources |
| PLWF116 | Filter page says Dockstream 2 but names no models; comparison page says “Not Available For Now” | Affirmed for packs purchased 2026 or later |
It would be easy—and wrong—to read this table in either of two ways. The first mistake is to assume the cordless model’s 2026+ affirmation extends to the corded model. The second is to assume that because the corded model has no such statement, older packs must be unsuitable for it. Our sources support neither move. The affirmation is narrow, and the absence of an affirmation elsewhere is silence.
A third reading is now also off the table: that a current pack straightforwardly covers both models. PETLIBRO’s filter page supports that at the series level, but its comparison page contradicts it at the model level, and its own Amazon listing names both models while its website marks them unavailable. Three official surfaces, three different pictures.
The PLWF116 purchase-date branches
These are the branches the matcher applies when you tell it about an older pack:
| If the older pack was | Status | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Dockstream 1 filter pack purchased in 2026 or later | Affirmed by the cited FAQ. | PETLIBRO's Dockstream 2 Smart Cordless Fountain FAQ states that Dockstream 1 filters purchased in 2026 or later can be used. |
| Pack purchased before 2026 | Not affirmed by the cited FAQ. | Choose a current pack rather than assuming old stock fits, and confirm the compatibility information printed on the package. |
| Purchase date unknown | Check the package or order date. | If you cannot confirm 2026 or later, the safer choice is a current pack whose package confirms compatibility with your fountain. |
The full reasoning, including how to establish a purchase date and what happens when you cannot, is in PLWF116 replacement filter compatibility.
Which models this page covers
| Model | Fountain | Generation | Power | Capacity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PLWF106 | Dockstream 2 Smart | Dockstream 2 | Plug-in · App | 3 L |
| PLWF116 | Dockstream 2 Smart Cordless | Dockstream 2 | Cordless · App | 3 L |
These models are supported by RefillMatch but are outside this page’s evidence. That is a limit of this page, not a compatibility verdict.
Buying for a Dockstream 2
Because no official page names these models as covered, the package itself becomes the primary evidence. Read the printed model list before you buy, and treat a pack that does not mention PLWF106 or PLWF116 as unaddressed for your fountain. Third-party packs claiming all six models across three generations place more of the verification burden on you, not less.
If you are weighing that trade-off, see OEM vs. generic Dockstream filters. If you are not certain which fountain you have, start at how to find your model number.

What we could not confirm
- Whether Dockstream 1 filters of any vintage are suitable for the corded PLWF106. Our sources do not address the combination.
- What differs between a Dockstream 1 filter and a current Dockstream 2 filter. The guidance we have is expressed in purchase dates and model lists, not components.
- Whether the corded and cordless models have identical filter housings. No source addresses the mechanical question.
- Why PETLIBRO’s comparison page marks these filters “Not Available For Now” while its filter page and its Amazon listing both indicate Dockstream 2 coverage. We report the conflict; we could not resolve it.
What this page is based on
- Manufacturer sourceDockstream / Dockstream 2 replacement filter listing ↗Series-level compatibility; states no individual model numbersSupports: "These filters are specifically designed for PETLIBRO fountains, including Dockstream and Dockstream 2"; "Replace every 2 weeks for best results"; "More frequent changes are recommended for multi-pet homes"; each pack includes 8 replacement filters and 8 pre-filter sponges
- Manufacturer sourceDockstream series comparison ↗Model numbers, capacity, power, and the replacement filter assigned to each modelSupports: model numbers; generation distinctions; capacity and power per model; assigns the Dockstream Replacement Filter to PLWF105 and PLWF115; assigns the Dockstream RFID Replacement Filter to PLWF305; marks the replacement filter for PLWF106 and PLWF116 as "Not Available For Now"
- RefillMatch inferencePETLIBRO's official pages disagree on Dockstream 2 filtersA documented conflict between two manufacturer sources, not a compatibility verdictSupports: the replacement filter listing states series-level compatibility with Dockstream and Dockstream 2 but names no model numbers; the model comparison page separately marks the replacement filter for PLWF106 and PLWF116 as "Not Available For Now"; because these official pages are not consistent, model-level coverage for PLWF106 and PLWF116 cannot be asserted from them
- Manufacturer sourceDockstream 2 Smart Cordless Fountain FAQ ↗2026+ purchase-date condition, scoped to the cordless modelSupports: Dockstream 1 filters purchased in 2026 or later can be used in the Dockstream 2 Smart Cordless Fountain
Manufacturer guidance and marketplace seller claims are different classes of evidence. Where a source does not address a combination, this site reports that the combination is not affirmed rather than treating it as confirmed either way.
